Receive the Gospel of Christ, whose herald you have become. Believe what you read, teach what you believe, and practice what you teach. (Rites of Ordination - Deacon)
Those who receive the sacrament of Holy Orders -- as a deacon, priest or bishop -- are consecrated in Christ's name "to feed the Church by the word and grace of God."
Please see more information about vocations to the priesthood. (USCCB website)
The call to priesthood is an invitation to take part more fully in the life and ministry of Jesus. This call is discovered in a variety of ways, including prayer, participation in the life of the Church, and involvement with the People of God. All of these are important. While there’s no one right or wrong way to proceed, if you believe you are being called to the priesthood take the time to consider what God is asking of you.
If you believe you have heard God calling you to become a priest, don’t ignore it. Help to bring it into focus by reflecting on what this special invitation means. Pray about it, and listen for God’s response.
